The Louisville Area's Most Reliable Source for Fuente Fuente OPUS X
OPUS X is the most sought-after cigar in the world — and the hardest to find. Most lounges in the Louisville metro see them in small drops a few times a year, then sell out in a weekend. We keep OPUS X almost always on the shelf, year-round. No phone-ahead. No waiting list. No "we'll call you when the next shipment comes in."
Why OPUS X is Hard to Find
OPUS X is grown on the Fuente family's Chateau de la Fuente farm in the Dominican Republic — the first farm in modern history to consistently produce Dominican puro wrappers worth wrapping a top-shelf cigar in. The yields are small, the wait is long, and the family decides who gets allocation.
For most shops in Kentucky and southern Indiana, that means an annual scramble: an unannounced shipment arrives, the regulars hear first, and the shelf is empty by the next weekend. If you walk in on a random Tuesday looking for a Power Ranger or an Angel's Share, you're usually walking out empty-handed.
We've built our humidor — and the relationships behind it — around making OPUS X something you can actually buy when you want one. Not a once-a-year event. A regular Tuesday.
What We Keep On the Shelf, Year-Round
You won't always find every single vitola on every single day — even we get cleaned out occasionally — but in any given week our humidor carries a strong cross-section of:
- OPUS X Power Ranger — the cult favorite
- OPUS X Robusto
- OPUS X Double Robusto
- OPUS X Perfecxion — X, No.1, No.2, No.3, No.4, No.5, No.7
- OPUS X Petit Lancero
- OPUS X Angel's Share — the lighter wrapper edition, when we can get it
- OPUS X "Father & Son" and other special releases on a rotating basis
The fastest way to know what's in the humidor right this second is our live inventory: OCL Cigar Search. Or call the shop at 812-786-7477 and we'll walk you through what's on the shelf.
How We Do It
We've spent years building a real relationship with the Fuente family and J.C. Newman, and we treat that relationship like the privilege it is. Our buying isn't opportunistic — we plan inventory around the year-long cycle so members and regulars don't get surprised by a dry humidor.
That's why some of our most loyal customers drive in from Prospect, St. Matthews, the Highlands, and downtown Louisville for OPUS X specifically. They've checked the local shops. They know the math.
